I’m Bob French. After a 36-year career in the finance industry, I reached a point where I knew I needed a change. After leaving my job, I trained in addiction recovery services and began working part-time at a rehabilitation program, while also entering a Clinical Pastoral Education program and doing chaplaincy work at a local hospital.
During this period, I was receiving spiritual direction from a skilled practitioner. It became clear that accompanying people along the journey of their spiritual lives was the right next step for me.
My spiritual background began with a formative Christian experience in my youth and was later deepened academically as a religion major in college, with a focus on Christianity and Judaism. Over the past several years, this foundation has been broadened through chaplaincy training and spiritual direction programs, with sustained exploration of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism.
I have also spent time working through how my guiding understanding of spirituality is connection can be meaningful for people without religious belief—those who may describe themselves as spiritual but not religious. This perspective shapes my interfaith, non-directive approach.
I now offer non-directive spiritual direction as a space for attentive listening, reflection, and discernment—guided by what is most alive and meaningful for you. If you are looking to explore your spiritual journey through traditional faith, I will work beside you there as well.
